High Rollers (sold)

Art: High Rollers (sold) by Artist Virginia Ann Zuelsdorf
I went to my first casino a few years ago and was overwhelmed by the colors and lights and people. This is my impression of the entrance to the casino.

Gambling has been a human vice since the beginning of recorded history. It provides opportunity for avarice and greed, which is one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

The character with the big head (I call him "Fathead")is walking through the casino, trailed by his entourage Yes, he glitters and shines, he's so important. And he's addicted. And of course he's a sinner.....in the eyes of some.

Then there's Mom with her red purse and the little girl asking Dad for money. Lots of tourists and lots of regulars. Who would deprive Grandma of her Bingo? Not I. I don't consider any of these sinners, they're just in a setting for sin and everyone one pales in the presence of Fathead.

I think it's not the setting, it's the sinner. High Rollers" was created at my studio in Orlando and finished in September 2006.
