This piece began as a painting of trees after Hurricane Charlie in Florida. It started out as being relatively releastic and got away from me and became much more abstract. I've used a lot of complementary colors to make it glow. The painterly effect is due to use of painting knives. The painting is essentially an abstract composition , with positive and negative space. The horizon is defined by opposite color combinations.
