Daily Maintenance aka I Can't See the Forest

Art: Daily Maintenance aka I Can't See the Forest by Artist Virginia Ann Zuelsdorf
This is a very personal piece. Being an artist, the right side of my brain is dominant. Painting is very much like meditation in that I can't think in words or speak while I'm painting or drawing. Thus, all those thoughts of things to do that race through my mind are quieted. Time has no meaning.

Every day before I go to sleep, I envision a color I love, such as blue, going into my right brain. At the same time I feel that I am emptying the left side of my brain, full of all the daily garbage.

The hand on the neck represents the constant pain I have in my neck.

The words in the left hand corner say: "Don't you see me? I'm here. I can't see my forest for all those damn trees"
