For the September Nibblefest contest, theme black cats smiling. This river rock pet portrait is based on my rescued black cat Charles, who is very happy to be in a home now. He was rescued off the street and spent over a year in foster care, and though his foster mom loved him very much, she wanted him to have a permanent home. But, black cats are not always the most popular, and Charles has his share of battle scars from living on the streets, but, he's such a sweetie. I'm so glad I found out about him, and he's a joy. This rock measures approximately 6"x3" and is painted in artists' acrylics on a smooth river rock, finished with an interior acrylic varnish. Signed and dated on the underside.
