This alligator, sock sculpture is an original, one of a kind artist creation. This gray gator is a critter cousin to the well known sock monkey of yesteryear. He is made of a pair of matching gray socks with a darker gray saw tooth dotted pattern. The tail is ridged and the back is sculpted by three dark gray buttons. The little legs are moveable and attached with cream colored buttons. The eyes are an apricot gold with black pupil buttons. The teeth are white buttons and the nostrils are grayish brown buttons. The barely visible inside of this gators mouth is red felt and his mouth is held closed by his button teeth. All the thread used to tie the many buttons is a grass green color.
This super silly art doll is my entry in April’s Nibblefest Art Contest, a themed art contest occurring each month. This month's theme is reptiles.
