"Atomic Cat" is a one of a kind wall paper collage enhanced with acrylic paint. This retro cat prances through an earthy tropical jungle. Meow, he’s a really wild kitty. The piece measures 4 x 6 inch, postcard size, and is mounted to a piece of illustration board. The cat, inspired by those art deco ceramic sculptures from decades past, is cut from striated yellow gold wallpaper. The faint striations go in different directions from area to area. The body is composed of two pieces and the head is four. Acrylic paint was washed over the cat to make the Siamese shading. Acrylic paint was also used on the facial features and the grass. The background is another wallpaper print. The piece is bonded and covered with Liquitex Matt Gel Medium for durability.
