Just a few touches of sunshine and in our area of the country the tulips start to push their way out of their winter hiding place. When the flowers finally show off their vivid color combinations gardens in our town are ablaze with gorgeous color. MY favorite tulips are the ones that combine colors. When I was able to do work in the garden we planted a thousand tulips. We were lucky and found a half price sale so thru caution to the wind. The reward for our hard work was better than gold. So of course every spring I am inspired to paint tulips. This piece is a combination of my favorite color blends. It is a watercolor with pen and ink on arches 140 lb hot press watercolor paper.
