Venezia is an image that I find beauty in every time I look at it. As I was walking across a canal in Venice, I noticed the bell tower of San Marco in the distance. I wondered if the natives of this mystical place ever took the time to "see" what makes their home so beautiful. This image also shows a little side to the culture of Italians. On the left of the canal you see laundry hung out to dry, a common sight throughout Italy. Here in the United States it is more common to dry our clothes in a dryer than outside. I liked to observe these subtle differences between our cultures and try and convey them to my viewer.
Venezia was taken with a 35 mm Minolta SLR, black and white TriX film, hand developed and processed on 11x14 ILFORD archival museum quality paper.
