The Duomo is the cathedral church of Florence, Italy. To some people it is just another beautiful piece of architecture, to others it is their place of worship. Everyday that I passed the Duomo there were people sitting on the steps hanging out with friends or others getting their picture taken in front of this magnificent work of art. I felt like this is a monument of the city that could not go without recognition. I wanted to capture as much of it's entire presence as possible. On the left you can see part of the dome which was designed by Brunelleschi and on the right you can see the bell tower poking up a bit from the facade. I used a Minolta SLR 35 mm with TriX black and white film. This print is hand developed and printed on 11x14 ILFORD museum archival matte paper.
