"400 B.C. Burial Figure w/Body Armor"

Art: 400 B.C. Burial Figure w/Body Armor by Artist Sherry Key
Version of 400 B.C. Japanese burial figure. Found at ancient burial mounds along with other artifacts like vessels, horses, etc. This body armor would have been made of leather.

This was before guns came along. The leather was bulky to provide protection during battles. He wears a leather helmet, sleeve guards, and heavy leather boots, etc. all designed to protect against severed legs and arms and other injuries. Then when guns came into the picture their body armor would have been made of combinations of leather, metals, silk, etc.

Stoneware clay, with copper green glaze, kiln-fired.
