This is a picture of the rare blue-eyed cheetah of South Africa. Herman happened upon it while searching for meerkats on the “dark continent” on June1, 1997. Startled, Herman lost his balance and fell backward onto the grass. Juliet, as Herman now calls her, walked up to him and licked his face. She then nuzzled him and he swears he heard her say, “I'm Lonely."
