Gathering Feathers RIP

Art: Gathering Feathers RIP by Artist Richard Holland
I chose to RIP Elizabeth Fiedel's Gathering Feathers because of the extraordinary imagery of the piece and her reason's for painting it. "I was awakened one night when my young daughter came into my room. Clearly sleepwalking, she was searching and seeming to pluck something out of the air. I gently asked what she was doing, and she replied, "Rebecca and I are gathering feathers." "According to dream symbol resources, to dream of feathers floating in the air signifies a life of comfort, warmth, and indicates that life's burdens will be light." I have a 10-year-old daughter (pictured) and would very much want that for her. The feathers, in my case, are still attached and rest on the fingers of my angel. I chose to add landscape as it is one of Beth's most explored subjects. The cactus flowers symbolize the the beauty and peril in dreams. The hair is painted (respecting the original artist's medium) in photoshop using the actual hair in the photo and the smudge tool (just keeping it real). This is my first RIP. It was great fun and I thank Beth for agreeing to pair with me.
