This is part of my "soft" series. The title is "Soft Wheat Fields and Thunderclouds"
This painting is an inspiration painting by Vincent Van Gogh titled "Wheatfield under Thunderclouds" I adore this piece. I have a print from Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam in my studio. I have stared at it for years. I decided I wanted to pay homage to it and add it to my "Soft" series. I have not created an inspired piece of work in nearly 20 years.
This painting is created using a special slurry that I apply prior to painting with color.
Then the paint has a mind of its own and I manipulate it with water, air and gravity.
The colors of the sky are indigo blue with white and iridescent light golden clouds
The fields are several shades of green with metallic details.
The only dragonfly is in my signature.
When view the painting from different angles you will see the slurry.
This painting is gallery wrapped with staple free edges and ready to hang.
The sides are painted satin black.
The front is protected with professional artist varnish.
Enjoy!
