This is the first piece of work from my new Abstract "Antiqued" Series.
This has lots of texture and several coats of paint to create the illusion of an old antiqued piece of work. This represents the squares as large a mosaic piece with several tones of metallic and iridescent hues. Two of the dragonfly bodies are made up of gold mica flakes. There is also gold mica flakes randomly painted on a few squares. This is a nice light catching effect on the painting. Although difficult to see in the pictures, I painted thick dragonflies under the painting you can see to add to the antiquing effect by dragonfly texture.
This is a gallery wrapped canvas with staple free edges. The sides are painted in a rich satin black. Hardware has already been installed on the back so your artwork is ready to hang up as soon as you get it.
The backside corners of the painting have cork to protect your walls. This painting is coated in a high quality artist varnish to retain its original beauty for many years.
