Happy Tree
A branch of the Criticality Series.

My Happy Tree is gentle losing its rich rainbow leaves. Fall is setting in...but right now this tree is absolute eye candy.
Happy Tree is a multi-level translucent, multicolor, multi textured delightful tree.
This is the painting I created from an iPad sketch I did a few weeks earlier. Check out my The Dragonfly Artist fan page for the original sketch.
The entire painting (with exception to the white initial background) is painted with one very old and cherished bamboo brush.
This is another one of my "slurry" paintings.
Slurry: my own original recipe for background medium to make my canvas act like watercolor paper.
The sky behind the Happy Tree is pearl gold. The leaves are deep rich earth tones and metallic with gold, bronze and copper. Tiny feather fibers are strategically laid to create depth and texture.
The sides are painted satin black.
The canvas is gallery wrapped with staple free edges and ready to hang.
Painting is protected with professional artists varnish.
The lighter colored photos are taken in natural sunlight. The more “golden” of photos are taken under indoor halogen gallery lights.
