I think this elfish creature has a curious look, as if she just discovered she was being watched. I usually picture mermaids as being something more a mixture of sea creatures than human. I love fish and have worked and cared for them in the past ( my home is now filled with tanks) Any creature of the sea has a natural flowing grace that I tried to work into the feel of this painting.
