This painting is one of my favorite gryphon paintings I've done because of the color and the expression of the gryphon itself. It's the first of a five painting series of the same size that I've had since I started them early 2003 and though they all have similar detail, I've always liked the golden glow in this one. I think of them as proud intelligent creatures and I thought this painting captures a bit of that idea.
