Scratchboard / Scratch Art
is scratching away the top layer of ink (usually black) on clay board to varying degrees and widths exposing the layer beneath (usually white) to create an image. You are then able to add color if you would like. Several thousands of individual scratches and multiply layers of scratching and inking are needed to create an image and depth.
