Here is a piece that looked to me as a woman with covered eyes. Although most of my women have their eyes closed this one almost looks like a mask. I see the blue to be somewhat mysterious, like the blue of transition such as the sky at dusk or at dawn.
The secret this woman is keeping is not just from the world but from herself first. She keeps her eyes closed and covered from a certain truth and this somehow gives her a sense of momentary peace. In a sense like being asleep. She looks like she is surrounded by ribbons of smoke, almost like a vail of delusion enveloping around her.
My women usually have bindis in between their eyes. This is to show the third eye activity. If you notice this one has a faint one that is covered as well - blue on blue.
This painting has a feeling to me of the phrase 'ignorance is bliss'. Almost like a druglike effect of denial, a reluctance to see one's truth which in the end proves to be more unpleasant than just facing it.
