"For-get-me-not" is a rather appropriate name for this unassuming flower. Where I live the often grow as weeds (there is a patch of some taking over a neglected spot in my backyard right now!) and are not really much “appreciated.” In my painting I wanted to accentuate their simplicity as well as the vibrancy of the color. The painting to me is a snap of the flower on a thick, hot, Kentucky day - the type of day where you’d like to be left well enough alone. Forget Me!
