Teaching painting to children in horse country is a no brainer when I wanted to paint this subject. There are ready children and ready horses just acxross the street. I had decided I wanted to show a close knit family and from those thoughts emerged the idea to have big sisters pushing little brother up on the horse. Again using the story method, this painting was to tell a story...the thrill of a young boy climbing up on his first pony with the help of his sisters. The initial intentions were to tell a story with this painting and I hope I succeeded!
