I am very new to selling art on the internet, but my art has been selling well for 58 years. I have never had the time to enter art shows, most of my time has been spent doing commission portraits and landscapes.
My creations are in private and corporate collections in 47 countries, and in 49 states.
As far as I know, no one from Idaho has ever bought a piece from me, but since some of it is sold in galleries, I don't know for sure.
Notes on ART:
To me, the creation of art is joy. Painting is like dancing. I'm lost in another world while drawing, where stresses of the world do not intrude-a very private place.
Viewing Art is a treat for the senses, and good art generates emotions that I can experience in a socially acceptable way, whether those emotions are love or hate, anger, joy, or serenity; or just something interesting to explore, a place to be.
Notes about me:
Creating art has always been an important part of my life, and the one constant in a long and turbulant life. I can't honestly say that I'm "self-taught", it was more like I always knew.
I received my first paid commission, from a stranger, when I was 8 years old. (There have been several hundred since then.)
Although I do enjoy doing commission work, the greatest reward has always been when people have liked what I did just for fun, and have expressed their liking by buying it and taking it home with them.
Notes about life, or what I believe-
I believe in honesty, in art as well as in life. When I do a pastel painting, I'm not trying to make it look like an oil painting, nor would I make an oil painting look like a watercolor.
I believe that life is to be enjoyed, and to me the sweetest music in the world is laughter. Art brings so much Joy to my life that I enjoy sharing it, and many times there is a funny or whimsical element in an otherwise "serious" painting.
Sometimes it's just a play on perspective, or a squirrel peeking out from behind a tree, that may not be noticed at first .
My Clients are V.I.P.'s- I want them to be very happy with my creations, and be able to wander around in them and explore.
