When I was a child I would love to visit my Grandfather's house. He was an artist, an oil painter and a woodworker and his house was filled with his creations--wonderful birds carved from wood and painted in bright colors, landscapes and portraits painted with thick, luxurious strokes that just begged to be touched. His workshop always smelled like turpentine and sawdust and was the most magical place in the world. It was my Grandfather who gave me my first set of paints and brushes when I was about seven years old and since that day I have never stopped painting.

I love animals, especially kitty cats. I must spend at least half of my day watching and playing with my kitty cats. Honestly alot of the time I prefer the company of animals to the company of people--my cats will never lie or pretend to be something that they aren't. I love painting pet portraits in particular and the best feeling in the world is when I hear someone say that I caught the personality of their best little friend in the painting.
