This painting was done to commemorate the Centennial celebration of the founding of Wake Forest, NC. Local artists were selected to submit artwork for display and inclusion in a coffee table book. This work was given one of only 5 color spreads in the final version of the book. The old store was operated by Jesse Wall, a beekeeper in the historic Mill Village section of Wake Forest. His relatives still live in the neighborhood. In summer, the blooming garden next to the shack is fantastic. The canvas is framed as pictured.
