A charming Victorian Street Scene is the background for a wistful young womanl dressed in turn of the century costume. Painted in a soft impressionist style with warm red accents, it is large, measuring 30" wide by 24" high (a standard size). Mounted on stretcher bars, it is ready to frame. Or, if you choose to hang it unframed, the edges of the canvas are sealed and painted. This is an original work, signed and dated, taken from the artist's own photos and sketches. Artist's Statement: During a recent visit to a historical city in the South, I photographed many of its beautiful restored buildings. Later, I found an antique photo of a young Victorian woman sent to me by a friend. She seemed a perfect addition to this painting.
