These little wood icons were created based on images from cemetery crosses that we saw in Ireland. The Celtic dragon, with its twisting symmetry, and the hand in front of the sun were both inspirational (see reference photos). Mixed media, including wood, beads, acrylics, and gold wash conspired to make these icons fresh and and yet aged at the same time.
