I create FuN FuNky Original Art. After selling 1400 "Wall Dancers" dolls I decided to play with found objects & I am having a RIOT! My turning 'junk' into masterpieces is a blast & I am loving it!
I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in February 2002 and that kept me literally bed-bound where the first 300 Wall Dancers were made in bed. Since I have sold over 1400 dolls. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and I accept I am EXACTLY where I am supposed to be today. You can make lemonade with the cards you are dealt. You live your life like anyone else. I am blessed with a beautiful family & friends. I have met great people & I cannot change the Lyme Disease but I can choose how I want to live my life & I do!
"Found Object Art"
I have decided that I lost track of why I love my art. I love the my OOAK "Wall Dancers" but after selling 1400 of them...it as time for a change & this change is going to be around for awhile. I began to play with found objects for my art. I am having a BLAST! The hubcap was such a cool idea for the Landfill Art Project that after I did it.....I thought Ken's idea of turning junk hubcaps into art was so very cool. Thus I decided it would be fun to play & use junk as my canvases sometimes. Once I started putting polymer on it I was changing the junk into art.
"Wall Dancers"
Wall Dancers are one of a kind art dolls. Each is an original hand-crafted with love. No two will ever be alike! No molds are used. They are made from polymer clay, wire & beads and possibly any other 'fun' things I may run across! All of my dolls bodies are between 9"-12" in length. They are always ready to hang! Their 'unique' hands & arms are made from wire with beads throughout. They are finished with two coats of Poly-Acrylic gloss. Since these dolls are created by hand, there may be slight imperfections which just adds to their charm.
"KeRicTures"
Hubby & I are now collaborating on a new series of art pieces. I sketch the faces & do all of the painting. Ric cuts my face sketches out and they can have 5-6 layers of masonite to create them.
These are truly whimsical pieces so colorful! They are 26"-29" tall so good size pieces. Each face will be different but the bodies will stay the same. When people see our work because of the body style they will think "Ric & Keri made these!" Thus the name "KeRicTures". They'll be painted differently & can be a blast in a grouping!
