So many tales throughout history of sea crews adrift on the ocean; the winds have not been kind to them, they are lost, cold, afraid...and then, weird music and lights in the distance, and they point the ship towards the sound of laughter...Never to be heard from again.
Well, this is the "light from beneath".
This is an original collaged ACEO (Art Cards, Editions, and Originals). I have used prismacolor pencils for the background, along with some raised shimmery paints. The mermaid is hand drawn and painted, and then orange silk threads were added for her hair. The two goldfish are cut outs of prints of my original goldfish drawings, embellished with sparkly orange paint. This piece is based on Strathmore Bristol and is signed and dated on the back.
