Autumn has always been my favorite season of all. It is the time when New England (where I live), is painted in overwhelming color and the air is crisp and clean. It is also the time when apples, the fruit of the Garden of Eden, make their appearance again every year. I painted my apples in oils because of their unique blending properties and depth. This particular painting is underpainted in the style of the Old Masters, as well, which I think gives it an inner warmth.
