Longing for Summer - Wine Decanter & Glass Set

This is one of my "organic" colorful, abstract 5 Pc. sets. It consists of a stained glass painted wine decanter, and 4 matching wine glasses.

When I created this set, it was a gray winter's day (November), and I was longing for Summertime, so I used the colors that remind me of that season. Some of the colors I used are: Emerald green, kelly green, amethyst, slate blue, turquiose, bright yellow, orange poppy, cocoa brown and white. The organic black outlines were created with liquid leading.

The colors have a beautiful translucency to them that really animates them, (especially when the sun shines through them). I acheive this look usually by blending two or more colors in each section. The colors are NOT painted on with a paintbrush, I actually use toothpicks(!) to blend and spread the colors around, making sure to go all the way to the edges of the black outlines, and popping out any bubbles along the way.

The decanter itself, has a very graceful shape, bulbous at the bottom, and narrowing in the center toward the top which is slightly flared. It measures approx. 9Hx4.5W" and the opening at the top is approx. 3". The 4 wine glasses are the standard size of a regular wine glass; (approx. 7"Hx3"W) each.
