Walking in the Shadow of White
This piece is part of my "Shadowy figures & Abstract apparitions" series. With this series, I depict various abstracted human (or human-like) figures from afar; usually in silhouette form. I show the viewer a glimpse of their lives through these little vignettes.
This piece is about light and dark. Shadows and silhouettes. Black & white, and the areas (negative space) inbetween. The end result of the juxtaposition of contrasting colors...
This large piece may look like it was created using only two colors, (black & white) but in reality it was more than just two... I had heard (somewhere) that in order to create a really "bright" and vibrant black, you should mix alizarin crimson with Pthalo green, and it would give you a beautifully bright black as opposed to a "flat" black.
This one's definitely NOT a "flat" black.. I prefer mixing my own colors when I have the choice.
NOTE: This piece was recently exhibited in an art gallery, here in NYC.
