Blue Ice
Blue Ice is a large (22x28") textured, abstract piece I created using a special texture paste (like spackle) and a large cerrated knife. With this piece, I sought to strike a good balance between light & dark areas.
I like creating pieces that the viewer can see various things in or interpret however they like. I call it blue ice because it seems very cold to me. I used only one pigment in creating this piece, and that was payne's gray, which is a blue-gray and there are differing shades here. I also when in and "scraped" lines throughout the piece for added depth which you can best see in the closeup view here.
I signed it on the lower right hand side, and painted the sides in the dark payne's gray, so there's no need to frame.
It will come to you varnished and ready to hang.
