The Fun Place for Braces!

I believe good oral health and dental hygiene starts with education and is something that needs to be addressed beginning in childhood.

This piece is a special commission I did for an orthodontist located in Texas. She specializes in children's dentistry, and wanted something whimsical, and colorful based on my "Home, sweet home!" piece for her offices, so this is what I created for her office.

Her offices are spectacularly decorated with a whimsical, child-like feel, (to put children at ease with dental visits) so my general idea was to have a very bright, bold cololrful background with white painted outlines that resembled a child's chalk drawing (something children can relate to). Something colorful and fun!

There was already a trapezoidal theme running throughout her office decor, so I also mimicked that theme in the shape of the dentist building in the piece. I call it the "FUN Place for Braces" as that's what I wanted to convey to the children; that a dentist's office is not a scary place, but rather a FUN place to go for dental work.

She absolutely loved this piece and told me that she got many compliments on it! Hope you like it too!
