This piece is hand formed in ceramic clay using a leaf from my garden in Bend, Oregon. It is then bisque fired at 1850 degrees in a kiln and then cooled. Once cool it is hand glazed using specialty glazes and refired to 1800 degrees. It is pulled RED HOT from the kiln and placed in a pit filled with ORegon pine needles to "smoke"..This is what causes the unique color effects.
