I live 60 miles from the nearest large town. In order to get there I have to go through the Lake Crescent area in Olympic National Park.
For once I took my camera with me and actually stopped to take pictures this summer. It is difficult to be the driver around this lake as it is very windy and there are always log trucks lurking around the next corner and crossing over his lane. No time for having the jaws drop at the beauty of the place. The colors of this lake are a deep sapphire and emerald green (it is possible!) There are no algae growing in it!
Absolutely stunning is the lake at any time of year.
This photo was taken late summer with low clouds draping over the mountains and trees like a blanket. It had such a Northwest feeling to it...an amazing and spiritual place.
