On my travels down to the San Luis Valley, Colorado from Denver, I pass through many areas with ranch access roads. This one is off of Colorado Highway 160 near La Veta Pass. Gorgeous country! I painted this from several color sketches I did on location last summer. This is but one impressionist, plein air style rendition of the beautiful locations in this special place that my maternal ancestors calls home.
