A New painting from my Southwest Landscape Series! This vivid, colorful painting depicts an old Spanish Mission along the high road in Northern New Mexico, the Santurario de Chimayo. Built on top of a piece of land known for it's healing and magical powers in 1816, this is a most delightful little church! This is a bit of an artistic license style painting as far as rendition. I'm really trying to convey the magic it has left with me since my last visit... it is a truly magical place. This series is an exploration and interpretation of my mothers ancestral home, the lands in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.
