My fettish for drawing letters has pushed itself to drawing boarders and embellishments. I'm thinking of those lovely manuscript illuminations and heading more and more in that direction rather than just the letter itself. It's demanding and time consuming but I'm learning patience with myself rather than the instant gratification I get from the color pieces I do. Letter R is such a rich, wonderfully fun letter to draw because of the easy curves and the straight back. It gives in to allowing sooooo much "artistic liscence"  where I find myself giving floral plumes, almost like a bird atop R's head. I guess I could say I think about letters a little too much...
