Life is so very rich and filled with so many beautiful things. I love to paint people, animals (especially dogs) landscapes, flowers - you name it. There is so much wonder in creation. We tend to focus on all of the wrong things sometimes (myself included) that we often times lose sight of what really matters the most. It is for this reason that I am so thankful for the paint brush and canvas.
When I'm painting it causes me to slow down and take a good second look at everything around me. When we view artwork it tugs at our souls and begs us for an interpretation. Art is a reflection of life and light. Art is a wonderful tapestry of hues, values and varying mediums.
I attended "Greater Career and Technology Center" in PA for my studies in art. My area of study consisted of the commercial artist program. I also consider myself a self-taught artist. Drawing and painting as a child, with my endless supply of crayons and tempra paints took up most of my time. I acquired the necessary skills that artists need for correct composition, form, lights and shadows and a sense of depth when painting portraits. I have painted professionally for many years accepting commissions from new clients, friends and family. At present, I continue to study and increase my knowledge and understanding of fine arts and continue to develop my unique style and techniques. Style-wise, I tend toward a realistic approach to painting although I view my work as somewhat impressionistic as well.
My original art currently graces the homes of individual collectors and those who have commissioned work from me.
"Believe while others are doubting. Plan while others are playing. Study while others are sleeping. Decide while others are delaying. Prepare while others are daydreaming. Begin while others are procrastinating. Work while others are wishing. Save while others are wasting. Listen while others are talking. Smile while others are frowning. Commend while others are criticizing. Persist while others are quitting." ....William Arthur Ward
