Art: Untitled-8.jpg by Artist Caroline Lassovszky Baker
A bug's-eye view of the lawn in early spring. Cultivated crocuses (Crocus vernus) bloom along with the 'pests' deadnettle (Lamium purpureum) and gill-over-the-ground (Glechoma hederacea). An herbarium sample of gill over the ground has been set in the varnish to add texture and a transient non-archival element to the piece.
Originally part of a report on the botanical mint family Lamiaceae, this small painting on canvasette is lovely on its own.

Available for sale at my Etsy store.
