 I accept commissions both for portraits and for artwork of your choice!!

I love the process of creating a portrait. When I study a face, I sometimes see the baby, the child, the adult, the old man or woman all at once.

For portraits I work in oil or in pastel. I work from carefully selected photographs as well as from the live model when this is possible.  Normally I take my own photographs so that the lighting and composition is optimal as a reference for a painting. However if you have a photograph that you love and feel would work well -- let me know. 

The price for a portrait depends upon the size, medium and complexity.  Prices start at $700 for a pastel portrait, and $1000 for an oil portrait.  (A typical size for a portrait with a single figure would be 11 by 14 inches.)

Portraits can be tailored to fit into standard frame sizes for ease of framing.   

Delivery of the finished portrait is usually within two months, depending upon my current workload.

The following are Price Guidelines for unframed commissioned artwork. (Portrait commissions are priced separately, as described above) Prices can vary due to complexity or other special requirements  

 Note: Artwork is designed to fit standard frame sizes for ease of framing unless a custom size is preferred
