*MeRrY ChRiStMaS* everyone!
Here is my 2009 annual hand-made Christmas card. I started making my own Christmas cards over 10 years ago and I noticed a theme, over half contain a peace symbol of some sort, either peace dove or the hippy peace sign, so I continued the tradition this year by doing a peace dove card. The background is a watercolor painting with India ink touches. The Dove is India ink on vellum with PhotoShop coloring and highlights. Dove is hand-cut. I was really pleased with how the background turned out - I wanted it to look like cut-velvet cloth (it is watercolor). Epson Ultra Premium Photo paper with archival inks. I send these to friends, family, and art patrons, and any other artists who will trade with me. If any artists reading this would like to trade hand-made Christmas cards with me, e-mail me with your address. I only have two cards to trade this year because this was such an expensive process! By the time I bought eight ink cartridges and the expensive paper, whew! I really have a lot invested in these.
I wish everyone a MeRrY ChRiStMaS and peace-filled New Year!
