This geometric style of necklace has a story behind it. Ever since I
can remember, whenever I start making something, whether it's drawing,
sculpting or painting, I get lost in the details. To the point where I'm
not happy with the end result. I have to make my life complicated. For
some reason in my brain, complicated thing equal worth. Then I look at
abstract work and I admire it. Why can't I make something beautiful and
simple? Does life always need to be so intricate and complex? I love
geometric shapes, why don't I just use them more often and let them
speak for themselves?
Well, here is my answer. Layers of fine
silver sheet cut out in squares and stacked on top of eachother. Now
don't get me wrong, thinking did go into this piece! You could even say
that it took me many years to finally come up with it. What I'm learning
to leave out is the overthinking part. And here is the result, an
industrial style piece that's attractive and simple, yet interesting
when you take a closer look.
