I have been working in stained glass since 1978, but only started experimenting with combining polymer clay with stained glass in the last ten years. I have not achieved this effect of light and reflection in any other medium, and really like the result. Glass has an inherent beauty that I prefer to keep intact by breaking the pane as little as possible and the clay extends the glass into the 3rd dimension, making it a low-relief sculpture. I also enjoy pastel, charcoal, pen & pencil, oil and acrylic. I am always on the look-out for new mediums, and I try them out before taking them into the classroom for my students. It keeps art fresh and exciting for everyone!
