This is an intensely personal piece that I painted as a result of one of those wonderful moments of heightened creativity. All three canvases were painted simultaneously with palette knife and heavy-bodied acrylics. Color went from one canvas to the other and merged along the way with the palette knife being used side on and lightly dragged in small steps across the work to create an almost mosaic feel. Often I work in complete silence but with this piece I found myself chatting away to nobody at all about the colors and the overall feel of the work as I went. The central panel contrasts with the two either side and yet bring all three into a juxtaposition with one another. The canvases are 8" x 20" each.
