This is my first painting in oils. I've been wanting to explore this medium for a long time but lack of space and a certain nervousness had held me back. Have to say I enjoyed the experience enormously. The sheer butteryness of the paint and the limited number of colours I had to work with led me to fall back on my favourite style of painting which is to simply explore colour and form and allow the painting to develop entirely from my sub-conscious. I used a palette knife throughout on this work.. not quite sure how to clean brushes when they've been used for oils... guess I'll learn in due course but for now I enjoy using the knife. .
