One day I was working on a crown of thorns and I was struck by the weightiness of Christ on the cross. Thinking about how that effected him. The weightiness not so much the body, but of mind, and soul when a living spirit is cast down. The piece took on a life of its own from there.
He hung in my heaviness, draped upon the cross my sorrow, nalied by my sin and filthiness. His body cast down in love for me. And at his raising...he drew me.
