Loup-Garou: Pastorale

- by Jasmine Ann Becket-Griffith

This week's theme: Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf?

The wolf. We have long viewed them with combination of fear and fascination. The wolf has figured prominently in our myths and fairytales portrayed as something to be revered or as the ultimate danger. The wolf once roamed almost the entire Northern Hemisphere and still roams freely in our collective consciousness.

If you would like more information on wolf populations worldwide, their habitats, conservation efforts or any other information, The International Wolf Center at www.wolf.org is an excellent place to start.

Art: Loup-Garou: Pastorale by Artist Jasmine Ann Becket-Griffith
"Loup-Garou: Pastorale" - I just finished this one tonight - the second installment in my "Loup-Garou" (French for Werewolf) series of paintings. For the past couple of years I've done an artists retreat in France and I've gotten a lot of inspiration from them. My Loup-Garou paintings all have French theme to them - I painted a beautiful Burgundian landscape in the background of this one - along of course with the magnificent Wolf (werewolf?) and his lady companion (another werewolf? Vampire?) - I love this piece! 16"x20" original painting on masonite.
