There is no denying it. The holiday season is here and everyday will bring more and more preparation and activity. Baking, decorating, gift buying and celebrations are the theme of the month. In the spirit of the season, EBSQ's Art of the Day will be featuring our artists tributes to the winter holiday season.

Art: Enchanted Holly by Artist Melanie Pruitt

As we were doing our fall cleaning in the garden, our holly tree caught my eye. Suddenly a painting, with some of my best granulating paints began to take shape in my mind. Holly is considered an "Evergreen" so I've entered it in the 2013 Flower of the Month Exhibit.

This is a unique, one of a kind painting. It incorporates many of the special effects of my Enchanted series of paintings, and features some beautiful Daniel Smith granulating paints blended into an impressionistic background â€“ all to create a unique style and interpretation of nature.

It measures 14.75 wide x 10.74 high and is painted with artist quality paints on artist quality 140lb Rough Press paper.
