Yep. It's that time of year again when candy canes, Santa and shining stars seem to be everywhere you look. Here at EBSQ, we aren't immune to the holiday spirit and we have this week's Art of the Day to prove it. Most of this week's art came directly from the EBSQ 'Tis The Season gallery. If you see something you like, be sure to check the artist's online store fronts, auctions or contact the artist directly as much of this week's featured art is available for purchase.
***Merry Christmas*** This is my 2011 Christmas card. I usually try to work a peace symbol into my design. This year I wanted to do a vintagey calico fabric style of design inside my peace dove. I've taken a zillion photos of my morning glories, so I used several photos and painted a pattern using Dr. Ph. Martin's watercolor dyes on cold press watercolor paper. Then I scanned the painting, filled in my dove using the pattern in PS, and was satisfied that it looked similar to vintage calico. I then printed the doves on white photo paper, cut them out, mounted them on foam tape to give it a 3-D effect and mounted them onto my background. I looked up many languages of the word peace to use as a background. Wishing you all a very very peaceful 2012!
